Join us in a toast to The Mill, opening today at 736 Divisadero.
The Mill is a collaboration between Four Barrel Coffee and Josey Baker Bread. They’ve been building out the Divisadero space for nearly a year — and it shows.
The space is open and bright, with gleaming white walls, a concrete floor, and exposed wooden beams overhead. The front area is lined with seating, including five bistro tables on one side, a long communal table on the other, and two tables with bench seating in the windows.
One wall features neatly-organized coffee- and toast-related merchandise, like Chemex pots, jars of honey, and glassware, while the opposite wall is kept spare, with a white tile pattern adorning its bottom half.
Step up to the register, where you’ll be able to order both coffee and toast, as well as other baked goods from the display case below.
You’ll find the usual selection of Four Barrel drinks, plus a variety of bagged coffee beans if you’d prefer to make yours at home.
In the back of the space, you can watch Josey and co. pulling loaf after loaf of bread out of their giant oven. Josey tells us they’ll have six varieties of bread available, including dark mountain rye, whole wheat, country, and a “wonderbread” sandwich loaf, though the varieties will change over time. You can buy just a slice of toast, or a whole loaf.
One final note, for those of you tied to your laptops (like us): you won’t find wifi or power outlets at The Mill, so don’t expect to make this your mobile office.
The Mill will be open daily from 7am to 9pm, starting… now. Get over to Divisadero and Grove, and see/taste for yourself.
