Change has come to the local food scene, as a new Thai restaurant has opened at 312 Divisadero.
As we anticipated back in November, Thai Place II has now become Sa-Beang Thai, with new owners at the helm. The layout of the space is generally the same, although the look has gone a little more upscale (meaning, the tables now have white tablecloths).
Meanwhile, the menu has been totally revamped and expanded, with dozens of unique new items like a crunchy pumpkin appetizer, pineapple fried rice, and deep fried rainbow trout with fresh apple salad. Prices remain in line with those of Thai Place II, with entrees ranging from $8 to $15. The menu isn’t online yet anywhere as far as we can Google, so you’ll just have to stop by and view the whole thing for yourself.
Sa-Beang is open from 11am to 10:30pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We haven’t had a chance to sample it ourselves, but for what it’s worth, the lone Yelp reviewer gave it five stars a couple of days ago. If you’ve dined there, let us know what you think!
