Tonight marks the first Presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Assuming you don’t want to watch at home by your lonesome, you’ve got at least a couple of options for following along with your neighbors.
Mad Dog in the Fog (530 Haight) will be airing the debate from 6pm to 7:30pm. (You can also catch it at their sister bar, the Kezar Pub, on Stanyan in the Upper Haight.)
If you want to double up on politics, consider watching at Danny Coyle’s (668 Haight), where D5 Supervisor candidate Julian Davis will be hosting a viewing party. A $10 donation is suggested but not required, and the viewing party will be followed by one of DC’s usual Wednesday trivia nights at 8pm.
And if politics ain’t your thing, but you’re still looking to sip some suds in the neighborhood tonight, swing by Toronado, where Almanac Brewery is throwing a beer donut happy hour. We are talking Dynamo Donuts made with Almanac beer. Read that again. Then, get to Toronado at 6pm. You may miss the debate, but this is why the lord invented DVRs.
