It’s been almost two months since Rotee closed its doors at 400 Haight Street — and now we know what’s going to replace it.
Inside Scoop reports that James Moisey and Shane LaValley, the chefs behind the menu at Excelsior’s Broken Record, are taking over the space.
The new restaurant’s name? Ricky Bobby.
Presumably that’s a reference to Will Ferrell’s character in Talladega Nights, although hopefully the menu won’t reflect his preferred cuisine of Taco Bell and Powerade.
Instead, the Scoop reports the menu will be the same as Broken Record’s, which means bacon burgers, crawfish grits, lobster mac & cheese, and the like.
There’s still plenty of work to be done on the interior, and a liquor license to procure, so Ricky Bobby’s launch is still a good month or so away. We’ll keep an eye on it.
