Yesterday, we wondered who was behind the newly-painted utility boxes at the intersection of Church and Duboce.
Today, we have an answer.
Several readers and commenters identified the artist as Mona Caron, the creator of the enormous Duboce Bikeway Mural just across the intersection. While that mural was completed in 1998, Caron has continued painting murals throughout the city and around the world.
Over on Facebook, Caron revealed that the succulents pictured above are of the species Dudleya caespitosa — no relation to your editor.
No word on whether Caron’s planning any more murals for our neighborhood, but if you spot any, let us know. We’ll do the same.
