If you love San Francisco, Jeremy Fish, the giant pink bunny at the corner of Haight and Laguna, or any combination thereof, brace yourself.
Fish has a new show at Fifty24SF (218 Fillmore) opening Saturday, called “Where Hearts Get Left” — and it looks like it’s going to be a doozy.
The show includes 60 new works by Fish, including 50 drawings, 4 statues, and 6 paintings “inspired by and created as a visual love letter to the city of San Francisco,” as Upper Playground puts it.
This week, Fecal Face posted a preview of the show, revealing the space decked out in gray and black and lined with dozens of Fish’s pieces. There are San Francisco skylines, golden bears, nods to Emperor Norton and the Giants and Lombard Street and taquerias and Francis Ford Coppola, all packed into one lil’ gallery.
Saturday’s reception will run from 6pm to 9pm. Not only will Jeremy Fish be on hand, but he’ll have 6 varieties of limited-edition screen prints available for sale as well.
And at some point, 100 handmade, wood-covered books featuring drawings from the show will be made available, though we’re not quite sure when.
If you can’t make it Saturday night, the show will be up for a solid two months, until September 14th. Or you can view the awesome gallery of photos over at Fecal Face.
But really, try to be there Saturday night. It’s gonna be a special one.
