Oh hey, it’s Canada Day!
Today marks 145 years since Canada was officially unified as a nation. (OK, actually tomorrow is Canada Day, since today is a Sunday — but, technicality.)
The point is, there’s poutine to be had.
Get yourself over to Greenburger’s today to enjoy some of this not-at-all-unhealthy dish, a special on this weekend’s menu.
Traditional poutine is a French-Canadian dish consisting of french fries topped with brown gravy and cheese curds. The Greenburger’s version features house-made sausage gravy and cheese curds from Petaluma’s Spring Hill Jersey Cheese Farm. It’s a creation of Greenburger’s co-owner and chef Matt Nudelman, a dual U.S./Canadian citizen.
This special is likely to sell out today, so grab your favorite Canuck and head down to 518 Haight for a heaping bowlful, eh?
