It’s been about 48 hours since the SFMTA completed a slew of improvements at the intersection of Church and Duboce.
Gone is the westbound lane for automobile traffic. It’s been replaced by a separated green bike lane, pictured above, and a widened boarding island for the outbound N Judah.
The island on the south side of the street was also made wider, and a blue railing was installed to further separate it from the right-turn lane.
Other improvements include smoother pavement, brick-lined curbs, and raised bumps to discourage traffic from mistakenly turning onto the Muni tracks.
So, there you have it — your new and improved Church and Duboce. Safer? Easier to navigate? A more pleasant environment in which to endure Muni delays? Let us know what you think.
