A few days ago, an out-of-town reader emailed us with an unusual question, and we need your help providing an answer.
He’s coming to San Francisco for work this summer, and is bringing his family. They’ll be living in the Haight for the entire month of August. They arrive at midnight on a Sunday night, but the home they’re renting won’t be ready until 1pm the next day. So, he writes:
“Any recommendations what a family of four (with luggage) can do from midnight to lunchtime?”
Our initial response was something along the lines of, “The city’s dead after 2am — you should get a hotel room for a night.” But now we’re wondering: is there a better solution?
What would you do if you found yourself with a dozen wee hours to kill in San Francisco, and had nowhere to stay? Plus three family members and luggage, to make things more interesting?
Family-appropriate suggestions only, please…
