It’s a special Saturday edition of Lower Haight leftovers, with just a few tasty tidbits that didn’t quite make the home page this week. Here we go…

This afternoon, artists Skinner and Alex Pardee will be appearing at Fifty24SF (218 Fillmore) for a meet-n-greet. The artists will be at the gallery from 2-4pm signing books and selling merchandise and prints. Skinner and Pardee are no strangers to the Lower Haight; you might recognize Skinner’s work from this mural on the side of Lower Haters, while Pardee hosted a pop-up shop in the ‘hood back in 2010.

Multiple readers are reporting the imminent opening of the new Santa Clara Natural Organic Market at Haight and Scott. The shop has finally come together after originally being slated to open last December. Looks like the market will be opening this weekend — we’ll keep an eye on it.

Meanwhile, across the street, P-Kok is closing its shop at 791 Haight Street. As such, they’re having a 20-50% off sale. The shop was originally fated to close last April, but, well, didn’t.
*************
Nearly two years since On the Corner closed, the cafe at the corner of Oak and Divisadero finally has some new signage. Except it reads “Vinyl”, which is the spot’s evening incarnation, rather than “Cafe Divis”, so we’re a little confused.
*************
In Upper Haight news, the New York Times (and the Bay Citizen) had a story this week about the troubles faced by the McDonald’s at Haight and Stanyan. The fast food restaurant made more than 400 calls to police in the past year, reporting trespassing, fights, robberies, assaults, and people brandishing knives. As the article puts it, “Neighbors are not McLovin’ it.”

Finally, our Facebook page switched over to the new timeline layout this week, which we don’t really like, but one thing we do like is how you can now send us messages through the page. Just click the “Message” button, and you can communicate with us privately via Facebook.
