It’s coming, guys and gals.

The Lower Haight Art Walk returns this Friday with a special holiday edition. It’ll be packed with plenty of the usual fun — art, music, discounts and the like — plus some new features that just might take this Art Walk to the next level.

Some expected highlights:

  • P-Kok – Body painting, belly dancing, a fashion show, DJs, and 20% off
  • The Grind – Happy hour all night
  • Aline’s Closet – 15% off all jewelry, free tote bags
  • Danny Coyle’s – beer specials
  • Edo Salon – Live music, new art, cocktails
  • Black Pancake Records – DJs and 20% off
  • Robotspeak – Live music
  • Idle Hand Tattoo – $60 “Get what you get” tattoos, plus live music from Vons de Qua
  • Laundry Locker – Art from Family House artists, plus check in on Facebook for a chance to win a $50 gift card
  • Greenburger’s – Art by Max Ehrman
  • Love Haight Computers – Free Macbook giveaway, plus 5% off Apple computers and 10% off repairs
  • Nickies – Cocktail specials

But wait, there’s more!

D-Structure hosts the opening of “Strangers on a Train“, new works by Alec Huxley. The event promises “art, booze, and beats,” plus print giveaways and limited edition t-shirts.

Meanwhile, Lower Haters presents the debut of “Fragile Guests“, featuring works by artist Betty Bigas. Along with the eye candy, expect art raffles, live music and holiday treats.

Oh also, guess what?

The oh-so-popular scavenger hunt is back in full effect. Think you know the neighborhood well? Or don’t, but want to? Get some friends together and roam the Lower Haight in search of obscure visual clues. Who knows, you just might win a prize or two. Email Janice (janice [at] lowerhater {{dot}} com) for more info.

But wait, there’s even more!

Other unconfirmed novelties we’re hearing for Friday night include street food vendors, a live choir singing Christmas carols (presumably), and a possible makeover for the bubble-wrapped building at the corner of Haight and Fillmore. What does that mean, exactly? You’ll just have to see for yourself!

So share it, Facebook it, Tweet it, plus-one it, and just go ahead and mark your calendar. This Friday, December 9th, from 6pm to 9:30pm. We’ll update on Friday with any new details. Otherwise, see you then/there?
