Kick Off December With Dog Party, Game Night Tomorrow

Though it doesn’t start for a few more hours, December is already shaping up to be a busy month in our neck of the woods — starting with a pair of fun events tomorrow night.

First, The Animal House (157 Fillmore) hosts a fundraiser for Wonderdog Rescue. Strap a holiday costume on your pup and get his or her photo taken by the pros at Belle Images. Then peruse the shop for the latest in bones and bully sticks while you nibble on wine and cheese. A portion of proceeds from sales go to Wonderdog, the organization behind those Saturday morning adoption fairs at Waller and Fillmore. Tomorrow night’s event is scheduled to run from 5pm to 7:30pm.

Also tomorrow, just a block or two south, Duboce Park Cafe will be hosting a free Game Night, featuring “games, food, music, friends, fun.” We’re talking classic games like Scrabble, Connect Four, Taboo, Yahtzee, Scattegories, Uno, and so much more. This kicks off at 6:30pm, meaning you can enjoy the final half hour of DPC’s happy hour if you’re prompt.

So, two fun ways to start December, for the petful and petless alike. This will all be followed by a block party, a flash mob, a trunk show and more, all before the weekend’s out. More details in Friday’s leftovers — stay tuned.
