Anybody Missing a Gray Cat?

We usually steer clear of covering lost-and-found items here at Haighteration, but enough people have mentioned this gray cat recently that we kinda had to make an exception.

Last week, on the lowerhaight.org Google group, a resident mentioned seeing (and hearing) a collarless gray cat in her backyard between Hermann and Germania, and later seeing the cat again on her doorstep. She describes the cat as “social,” “healthy,” and unneutered, and notes that others in the neighborhood have reported seeing the cat as well.

Today, Haighteration reader Sarah L. emails us with reports of a gray cat — possibly the same one? — that has suddenly taken up residence at the Key Food Grocery at Fillmore and Oak. The gray, collarless cat is described by Sarah as “pretty young” and “semi-fluffy.” She warns that the market’s owners will have to call Animal Control soon if the cat isn’t claimed.

So, if this sounds like your cat, or if perhaps you’d like to make it yours, stop by Key Food. Then, do us all a favor and put a collar on it. And get it neutered while you’re at it.
