New Mural Appears on Scott Street

It kinda feels like all we write about lately are trees and murals, right? Well, today we’re doubling down: here’s a story about a mural of a tree.

The mural appeared this weekend on the side of Oak Fair Market at the corner of Oak and Scott Streets, taking the place of an INSA mural which had occupied the wall since January.

The INSA mural was timed to coincide with the artist’s show at Fifty24SF Gallery (218 Fillmore), and similarly we suspect this new mural is the work of Spanish artists San and Escif, whose show “See You in Croatian” opens Thursday night at Fifty24SF.

The mural depicts an uprooted tree being propped up by a person on a stepladder:

A reference to the recent spate of weird tree incidents in the neighborhood, or just a timely coincidence? You might just have to stop by Fifty24SF on Thursday night to find out.
