Yes, today is Bike to Work Day.
And while we totally support the idea of people-powered commutes, we can’t help but feel there’s something a little sad about biking to work. Because at the end of that bike ride, guess what? You’re at work. It might as well be Hot Air Balloon to Jail Day, or Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride to Jury Duty Day. Love the transportation, hate the destination.
Now, Bike to Ice Cream Shop Day — that’s something we could definitely get jazzed about.
Fortunately, the folks at Three Twins (254 Fillmore) have a special offer today to help put some joy back into joyriding.
Pedal on over to Three Twins today and get free toppings on your ice cream cone or cup. You just have to show evidence of your bike-friendliness, such as a bike, a helmet, a bike lock, “one leg rolled up” — we get the sense they’re not going to be too strict about this one.
So alert your inner child (we alerted ours, pictured) and roll on down to Fillmore for some free cookie crumbles or chocolate chips. And don’t worry about the calories — you can burn ‘em off on the ride home.
