Here’s our regular Friday roundup of stories that didn’t quite make the front page this week!

  • It’s the first Friday of the month, and you know what that means — a big night at D-Structure. Tonight from 8:30pm-11:30pm, check out The Curated Works of Bush and Leavenworth, featuring art and clothes selected by new San Francisco-based apparel label Bush and Leavenworth. There’ll be cocktails and giveaways too, of course. Check here to get more details and RSVP.

Then, hit the afterparty at Nickies with DJs Dion Decibels and Whooligan. 10pm to 2am, no cover, 21+ — as usual.

  • Fecal Face Dot Gallery officially took over the 248 Fillmore space on Tuesday. They’re prepping the space for their first show, which will open next Friday.
  • A new sales office for Albion Power, which specializes in solar power, hung its shingle up at 214 Pierce Street this week, next to Mickey’s Monkey.
  • Looking for a job? The Lower Haight’s soon-to-be-newest restaurant, Greenburger’s — which, full disclosure, is also our newest sponsor — is hiring.
  • This week, local community group the Wigg Party pulled off a pretty neat Facebook stunt, showing support for various labor groups and progressive causes by posting on their walls en masse and spelling out the word “solidarity” via their profile photos. It makes sense when you see it.
  • We’re not entirely sure when this happened, but the Eden Sauna at 776 Haight Street is now under new management, and its name has changed to Tall Tree Tambo.
  • Finally, in case you missed it, we’re planning something pretty special for our first birthday, which is Tuesday, March 15th. If you love the Lower Haight, you’ll probably want to spend at least a little time in the neighborhood that day. More details next week!
