Apologies if it seems like we’re repeating ourselves (it IS Groundhog Day, after all), but let’s recap a few events happening in the neighborhood tonight.

First, there’s the neighborhood safety meeting at the Peacock Lounge, where topics will include recent crimes in the Lower Haight and practical steps we can all take to keep the community safe. Reps from both the SFPD and Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi’s office will be in attendance to answer questions and join the discussion. That’s 552 Haight, from 7pm-8:30pm, and all are welcome to attend.

Also, there’s the opening night party for the Noise Pop-Up Shop at 248 Fillmore. Expect reinterpreted record covers from Bay Area artist PEZ, a slideshow from Josh Blank, and performances by New Crystal Aquarium (at 7pm) and Elephant & Castle (at 8pm). The free event runs from 6pm to 10pm.

Finally, and shifting gears completely, tonight marks Vinyl Wine Bar’s first experiment with a weekly pizza night, with pies provided by Casey’s Pizzas. “Casey will be making all pies in house so you can order a glass of wine or beer, order a pizza and grab a seat at our ‘Broadway’ communal table or on our Vinyl couch. When your pie is ready we will bring it to you.” Pizzas will be served up from 6 to 10pm, with drink specials available all night. That’s Vinyl at Cafe Divis, 359 Divisadero.

So, lots of options to choose from tonight. Or, be a neighborhood rockstar and attend all three. (And if you do, we want to hear about it.)
