Harvey Milk Center for the Arts

Not a ton of events this weekend (that we’re aware of, at least), but here’s what we’ve got on the calendar.

Tonight at 6pm, Life hosts its annual LateNight at Life, celebrating the shop’s 19th holiday season in the Lower Haight. It’ll be “an evening of Christmas treats, discounts and… supersonic giftwrapping,” plus astrology readings by David Crook. That’s tonight from 6-9pm at Life (604A Haight).

Also tonight, Lower Haters hosts the opening reception for its latest group show, entitled “All the Little Things.” It includes new works by Patrick Kawahara, Leroy Jenkins, DIA, Jeery Ilkenhons, Damien King, Andrew Perry, Saavl, and Grant Gilliland — presented in an intriguingly vague “grab bag” style format. The show runs from 7-10pm tonight at Lower Haters (597 Haight).

And finally, tomorrow the Harvey Milk Recreational Center hosts a Handmade Holiday Gift “Bizarre.” It’ll feature affordable, one-of-a-kind items like jewelry, prints, clothes, and baked goods. There’ll also be a silkscreening workshop, so bring your own garments or bags if you want to have them screened. That’s Saturday from 11am to 4pm at the Harvey Milk Center, on the Scott St. side of Duboce Park.
