Done eating? Good. Cuz it’s time to start shopping.
As we all know, there is nothing more important, patriotic, or fulfilling than getting deep, deep discounts on day-after-Thanksgiving purchases.
Yes, you could spend your hard-earned dollars at the Walmarts and Best Buys and Targets of the world — but wouldn’t you rather keep that money local?
If so, you’re in luck, because a bunch of Lower Haight merchants are serving up some pretty fantastic Black Friday deals today.
To wit:
- Lower Haters and Black Pancake Records are teaming up for what they’re calling the “What? It’s Already the Holidays?” Sale. Everything at both shops will be discounted on a sliding scale, depending on the time of day:
- 40% off from 10am to 11am
- 30% off from 11am to 12pm
- 20% off from 12pm to 8pm
Thus, arrive early! 597 and 593 Haight, respectively.
- Revolver and its current pop-up shop ScuttleFish will be having a “Hang Ten” Sale. Can you guess the discount? Yes, that’s 10% off everything in the shop. (You can also get the discount online using the code HangTen.)
In addition to the discounts, Revolver promises “hot beverages” for your enjoyment while you shop — plus, all Scuttlefish purchases will be matched with a 10% donation to the Save the Waves Foundation. So, two reasons to feel extra good.
The Hang Ten Sale runs through Sunday night, both in-store (136 Fillmore) starting at 11am today, and online at 9am.
- If vintage sneakers are your thing, or the thing of someone on your holiday shopping list, stop by neighborhood newcomer SFCollection.
We’re hearing they’ll be selling fitted hats from local label Huf for $25, snapback hats for just $20, and more.
Doors (at 442 Haight) open at 11am.
- Meanwhile, D-Structure joins the fun with their “Lazy Black Friday” Sale. The sale includes:
- 20% off all artwork
- 10% off all apparel
- 50% off all clearance items
It’s only “lazy” because it doesn’t start at the break of dawn — otherwise, this sale is pretty aggressive! D-Structure’s doors open at 11am (520 Haight).
- Merch brings two events together this weekend, with both a Black Friday sale and a trunk show.
First the sale: today only, take 20% off all holiday cards and wrapping paper!
Also, the trunk show: this weekend, Merch hosts fashion designer Lizz Wasserman, and items from her two lines, Popomomo and Curatorial.
Wasserman will be at the shop all day today, so come meet her (and sip champagne). You can also enter to win a piece from Popomomo’s fall collection.
The trunk show runs through Sunday, and today’s sale/event goes from 11am to 7pm at Merch (629A Haight).
- And finally, Walgreens is having a 3-day, $10 off sale. Pretty sure it’s online only, and we feel a little icky even mentioning it, but here at Haighteration we try to be nothing if not comprehensive.
And ultra-finally, we’ve added shops, galleries, salons, markets, and other retailers to our comprehensive list of Lower Haight businesses, so use it as a reference for all your holiday shopping planning.
Well? What are you waiting for? Get out there and find a great gift for somebody special in your life.
