It’s Friday, so it’s time to start figuring out your weekend plans. Fortunately, we’re here to help.

In case you didn’t know, today is PARK(ing) Day around the world — a day when parking spots are reclaimed and turned into… well… anything, as long as it’s people-friendly.

In our neighborhood, 5 spots on the south side of Fell between Scott and Divisadero have been claimed by the Wigg Party and Fix Fell. “Stop by anytime between 11 am and 5:30 pm for some tea (generously donated by Numi), hula hooping, lounging, conversating, and good old fashioned community making.”

After that, Fix Fell will be holding their weekly protest at the Fell St. ARCO station, from 5:30 – 7:30pm.

When you’ve gotten all your pedestrian angst out (“pedestrian” in the non-motorist sense, not the commonplace sense, of course), head to Lower Haters for the opening of their latest show, “We Are Us,” a duo showcase of artwork by Mildred & Pacolli. The reception is scheduled to run from 7-10pm.

Saturday night, D-Structure hosts it’s first-ever monthly “mini-show,” a smaller-than-usual collection of works that will be on display for just 2 weeks. The show is dubbed “What Goes Around,” and features works by Larissa Grant, Michelle Fleck, Hannah Williams, Ian Tuttle, and Raphael Villet. Plus there will be a retail happy hour, meaning 10% off everything in the shop. Festivities run from 8pm – midnight.

On Sunday, venture just a bit outside the neighborhood for Sunday Streets: Western Addition Edition. From 10am – 3pm, check out all sorts of vendors, music, and special performances stretching from Japantown to the Panhandle.

You might also want to swing by this week’s Divisadero Farmers Market, which will be featuring live cooking demos at 11:30am and 1pm, including free tastings.

Know anything else going on in the neighborhood this weekend? Let us know. tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com. And as usual, check our new calendar to keep track of these and other events in the area.

Have a great weekend, folks!
