The 3-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has just granted a stay on Judge Walker’s ruling overturning Prop 8, meaning same-sex marriages will remain banned while the court hears the appeal, KGO Radio reports.
The court is scheduled to receive briefs from both sides by December, and begin hearings in the case thereafter.
Update 5:02pm: As SF Appeal notes, the court has expedited the timetable for hearing the appeal, with all briefs now due from both sides by November 1st, and the hearing scheduled for the week of December 6th.
