Let’s be honest. Sometimes it’s unbearable listening to Mission residents brag about their expansive stable of street food carts. Especially when you realize you’ve never seen such mythical vendors around the Lower Haight before.
Well cower in shame no longer, friend. Get yourself over to The Page, and you might just spot hot dog cartisan Gorilla Pete (a.k.a. Peter Buckley) pushing his mobile, porktastic love around the neighborhood.
Haighteration reader Josh K. was able to catch up with Pete yesterday and ask him about his plans for the cart. Pete said he’ll be staking out the spot Fridays from 5-8pm, and possibly late night Saturdays. The menu includes gourmet dogs and sausages, as well as veggie and chicken options, and chips on the side.
So if you’re near the Page Friday night and get hit with a snack attack, visit Gorilla Pete. With five stars on Yelp and a glowing review from Josh, we think it sounds like a winner.

And now, because we’re juvenile, we’re gonna repeat this post using hot dog puns.
Let’s be frank. Sometimes it’s the wurst listening to Mission brats relishing their expansive stable of street food krauts. Especially when you realize you never sausage mythical vendors around the Lower Haight before.
Well cower in shame no longer, dog. Get your buns over to The Page, and you might just spot hot dog cartisan Gorilla Pete (a.k.a. Peter Buckley) pushing his mobile, porktastic love around the neighborhood.
Haighteration reader Josh K. was able to ketchup with Pete yesterday and grill him about his plans for the cart. Pete said he’ll be staking out the spot Fridays from 5-8pm, and possibly late night Saturdays. The menu includes gourmet dogs and sausages, as well as veggie and chicken options, and chips on the side.
So if you’re near the Page Friday night and get the urge to pig out, visit Gorilla Pete. With five stars on Yelp and a glowing review from Josh, we think it sounds like a wiener.
(Sorry, that’s about all the hot dog puns we could mustard.)
