Last week we told you about Cafe du Soleil’s intentions to host live jazz music and poetry readings. Well neighbors, today’s your chance to weigh in on the issue.
Drop by a public hearing at 4:30pm at City Hall, Room 400, where you can affect the outcome of this debate. We hear that most folks around Fillmore and Waller are supportive, but a single neighbor is fighting the plan for fear of noise pollution. A single neighbor! But as we all know, the squeaky wheels get the oil in this city (is that the expression?), so this one could go either way unless you make your voice heard.
The Citrus Report chimes in with an excellent post in support of the Cafe, and we here at Haighteration have to agree. The Lower Haight is not the suburbs. Also, a gently-plucked upright bass or the spoken-word recitation of Emily Dickinson is not an Iron Maiden concert.
