Upper Playground is running a contest for invitations to the premiere of the new film “Exit Through the Gift Shop” by legendary street artist Banksy, which will debut on April 14th at 7:30pm at the Mission’s Victoria Theatre, followed by an afterparty at SOM. Bar.
To snag your invite, as well as a $100 gift certificate (!) to Upper Playground, just submit a photo of yourself “standing next to a cop with a handmade sign that has the movie title (Exit Through the Gift Shop) on it.” Sounds appropriately subversive to us.
If you’re not familiar with Banksy’s work, he has left his mark on sidewalks, billboards, and bridges the world over. He even targeted an apartment building in the Lower Haight in 2005:
