A few weeks ago, while doing our usual fantasy real estate research, we stumbled upon this listing for a couple of Victorian flats on the 500 block of Haight, selling for a cool $1.6 million. We were about to keep on browsin’ when this particular phrase reached up and smacked us in the face:
“Molotov’s has been a local fixture for many years and is a high volume, low maintenance business that is included in the sale of the property.”
It’s no secret that bar ownership has always been a dream of ours, so you can imagine our excitement. And you can thusly imagine our utter devastation at the discovery a few days ago of this sign (pictured) in Molotov’s window, indicating a pending change of ownership. Translation: looks like somebody beat us to it. And we were so close to assembling those sixteen thousand Benjamins, too!
No word on whether the change of ownership means any change to Molotov’s, but we’ll keep you posted.
